The Hurricane Hunters are members of the 53rd Weather Reconnaissance Squadron of the Air Force Reserve based at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, Mississippi. Their mission is to observe tropical storms by flying an airplane directly through the storm! They fly missions from the mid-Atlantic to the International Dateline in the Pacific. Learn more  at the Hurricane Hunters website.

This piece is intended to suggest the turbulence and excitement as they enter and exit a storm, and the calmness and beauty that exists in the eye, or center.
